John, another student and myself were a part of the Lazarus scholarship program. Our first project was called 'One Box, One Smile'. I utilized my patterns and what I learned in type to help create these posters  for our events.

Patterns
As an extra credit for illustration, we were instructed to create something Christmasy.  I created this pattern. It can also be used as a series piece with the Halloween Cat.
Type Labels
So our type class was mainly focused on the form of letters and what not, but our final project was to create 5 very distinct and different labels. We could choose wine, beer, hot sauce or moonshine. I chose the wine.
Illustrations
We had an open assignment based off of the words 'Trick-or-Treat'. I decided to create place holders for a halloween parties. The three different themes are casual (the stabbed one), children /9the one with the spider ring) and classy (the nicer frosting design).
We then had a personal project and I was instructed to paint a mess of food.
Last Half of Visual Development
We were offered a series of problems and I chose the situation where a broadway show was opening. and props went missing. I chose to focus on the Phantom of the Opera.
Next came the environment assignment. We were all given someone else's environment drawing in class. I was super excited for Christmas so I made a Candy Town.
*Woman in picture, toys, mantle pieces, environment in the snow globe*
Next came the fun exercises that lasted a day each.
First we had to make superheroes based on our classmates and do spheres of the fabrics used. This is Krista, the fairy that can talk to animals( I chose her outfit before her powers and by the time I realized how wrong somethings were, it was a little too late to start over).
Then we were given 3 words at random. I received plasma, NASA and bow and arrow. We then had to create a weapon based on those words and I decided to make Apollo's Bow, using the Apollo rockets filled with plasma as arrows.
